Qualifications:
• An accredited high school diploma or equivalent degree
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs on a consistent basis – sometimes additional weight on an infrequent basis
• Ability to correctly operate electric and battery powered floor care equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Experience in a health care environment and/or six months experience in institutional housekeeping work – highly recommended

Our downtown location, TMC Hospital Hill, is the largest provider of outpatient specialty care in Kansas City. This location has an immediate opening for an Environmental Services Technician. The primary responsibility of the Environmental Services Technician is to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.

The ES Tech cleans and services the building areas according to established policies and procedures. The ES Tech must be able to demonstrate professional communication skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing while communicating with patients, customers, and fellow co-workers; as well as have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. The Environmental Services Technician is expected to greet all customers in a friendly outgoing manner.

Key Responsibilities include:
• Ensures that proper cleaning supplies are available for use at all times
• Prepares solutions according to procedures
• Loads and transports needed supplies to work areas
• Cleaning assignments include washing walls, doors and frames, ceilings, trash cans, furniture, tile fixtures, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions
• Operates various types of low speed (under 1000RPM) cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical, i.e. buffers, wringers, scrubbers, vacuums.
• Climbs ladders to hang cubicle curtains, window drapes, or reach high areas for other cleaning purposes.
• Arranges furniture for meetings, seminars.
