Construction Trainer

To train economically disadvantaged youth (ages 17-24) in various construction related fields, demonstrate good jobsite management and meeting deadlines, and to encourage leadership development to our participants while providing supportive guidance. Teach construction curriculum to at risk youth in an on-the-job learning environment. You will be responsible for running a crew of 6-12 novice young people operating in different aspects of residential construction meeting deadlines while teaching basic concepts.

* Being a mentor and positive role model
* Maintaining proper jobsite management.
Including:
o Managing materials
o Maintaining and adhering to job site safety
o Interacting with program partners, clients, sub-contractors, and inspectors
o Supervising and teaching participants
o Meeting deadlines

* Having basic knowledge of or an ability to learn and then teach many different aspects of residential construction including:
o Carpentry ý rough in and finish
o Plumbing
o Electrical
o HVAC (not required)
o Roofing
o Grading/Landscaping
o Painting
o Concrete/flatwork

* Assisting with outreach efforts as needed
* Maintaining strict tool inventory
* Assisting with the various committee assignments
* Assisting with GED curriculum when necessary
* Being to effectively work with computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, and Access.


Qualifications
* Strong desire to teach ýat-riský youth 17-24
* Good communication skills
* Proficient skills in Microsoft office applications
* 2+ years experience in construction related fields
* Valid drivers license
* High School Diploma or equivalent degree
