Qualifications:
You are at least 18 years of age, you have a valid Social Security number, you take a written test of basic skills, pass a background check, and commit to 3 & 1/2 days of paid training. Required testing for all positions. Must bring license and social security card or passport to testing. Testing is available to the public at Longview Metropolitan Community College on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 from 12:00p.m. - 1:30p.m. and 1:30p.m. - 3:00p.m.

Job Description and Wage Information:
Census takers usually work in their own neighborhoods or communities. They work in the field and must work varied hours, not exceeding 40 hours per week. Some operations occur during regular daylight hours. Others, which require personally interviewing respondents, mean census takers must work when people are at home, usually evenings and weekends.
