Academic Instructor-Full Time Position – Excelsior Springs Location

The Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center is accepting applications for a full time Academic Instructor. In-house and external applicants need to submit a letter of interest and an updated resume to Human Resources no later than March 23, 2009.

General Function:
Function as an Academic Instructor in a classroom setting, providing instruction in
skills necessary to master academic competencies. Provides instruction, administers
tests and evaluations progress in reading, writing, social studies, science and mathematics understanding and proficiency. Provide remedial materials and instruction when required.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Education and two years of teaching experience is required, preferably at the secondary level.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Effective organizational skills
· Effective interpersonal skills.
· Classroom instruction and curriculum development.
· Ability to interpret data and analyze its use within educational programs.

Licenses or Certificates:
* State Teacher Certificate is required.
*A valid drivers license is required
