Summer Youth Care Worker

SUMMARY: Seasonal summer position working up to 40 hours per week. Responsible for the facilitation of psychosocial groups and individual supervision of youth as needed. This position reports to the Psychosocial Coordinator. JOB LOCATION: • This position will be based at the

Specific Skill Requirements and Essential Job Functions:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent degree • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing • Ability to establish effective working relationships with children, parents, staff, and community agencies • Ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences • Must be able to safely perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to pass an extensive background check. (Criminal, motor vehicle (driver's license must be clean), education, adult abuse and child abuse.

Wyandotte Center for Community Behavioral Healt:
Wyandotte Center is a large and growing urban community mental health center. The Center has provided services to residents of Wyandotte County since 1953. A full range of services are offered - Comprehensive Outpatient Services provides individual, family and group therapy to adults, children and families and psychiatric services and medicine clinic; Community Based Services provides services for youth and families in the community - in the home, in schools and recreation centers; Community Support Services provides case management, groups, vocational rehabilitation, attendant care, homeless outreach, liaison services with the court system and state hospitals as well as psychiatric services and medicine clinic. Fees are on a sliding scale for residents of Wyandotte County.
