Minimum Qualifications: H.S. diploma/GED required. Previous experience in responding to emergency or crisis situations, operating two-way radio equipment and entering/accessing data on computer terminal preferred. Must have skill in reading/interpreting maps, recalling information, and enunciating clearly. Must pass Kansas City Police Dept. Alert/Inquiry training course every two years, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Basic Communications course after completion of three month training course. Must pass Dispatcher exam and background check.

Job Description and Wage Information:
Wage:$11.61/hour. Responsible for emergency and non-emergency calls received for the Sheriff's department and dispatching calls occurring in the unincorporated portion of the County. Utilizes the Alert, Mules and NCIC system computers to record activities, enter, cancel, update and retrieve information on wanted or missing persons, stolen property, motor vehicle information and other pertinent data.
