Healthcare Advocate (Backup Workers)

Responsible for being in an on-call rotation from
6am-6pm or 6pm-6am (12 hr. shifts) Monday-Friday and Saturday and Sunday for Synergy’s hospital advocacy program. Responsible for carrying a beeper and responding to hospital advocacy call for support, referrals and aftercare to women who are victims of domestic violence or abusive environments. Assist in client intake assessments. Provides face to face advocacy services, typically in a hospital setting, to victims of domestic violence seeking medical care, including crisis intervention and support, safety planning, assistance in filing protection orders, access to emergency shelter, information and referral to resources. Positions require Associates degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. BS degree preferred. Prior experience working in a social services agency providing support to clients desired. Will be trained in hospital advocacy protocols. Must be at least 21 years of age, pass a background check, drug screen and have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
