KYEA-Fundraising Coordinator VISTA Position

KYEA) is currently searching for a qualified Fundraising Coordinator to full our one AmeriCorp VISTA slot. KYEA’s mission is to promote and support the development of youth with disabilities so they become empowered as community leaders through education, mentoring, and peer support.

This is a full time AmeriCorp VISTA position, 40 hours per week. The pay for this position is $833 that is provided by AmeriCorp VISTA.

Primary responsibilities include preparation of proposals and grant applications and performance of responsible professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing and responding to public and private grant opportunities as well as soliciting donations. Qualified candidates should possess excellent writing and computer skills (Microsoft Office word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel), and database management skills. The candidate must be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes, able to effectively work under pressure, use independent judgment and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints. Previous experience will demonstrate a proven track record in securing new funding opportunities; comprehensive knowledge of research and the ability to distinguish and identify funding opportunities for programs.Work is performed under broad direction from the executive director with the majority of work performed independently.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
•Computer operations and efficiency.
•Ability to use required office equipment.
•Ability to relate to persons with disabilities.
•Ability to use good judgment, discretion, and maintain confidentiality.
•Ability to initiate projects and work with minimum supervision.
•Ability to work as a team member.
•BA Degree desired and/or two years experience in successful grant writing and fund-raising.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Researches and identifies new government and private funding prospects.
2. Generates proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations.
3. Generates revenues for KYEA programs through timely submission of well-researched, well-written and well-documented fund-raising proposals.
4. Maintains and implements a calendar of fund-raising activities.
5. Writes reports to government, foundations and other funders.
6. Acts as liaison with program staff
7. Identifies funding opportunities and new program areas to match KYEA priorities.
8. Serves as liaison to all funding agencies and organizations
9. Engages with program officers at organizations to solicit invitations to submit proposals.
10. Assist with all KYEA programs.
11. Other duties as assigned.
