Communications Officer-Communications Officer

City of Liberty, MO seeks motivated individual for Communications Officer position. Position involves working shifts, weekends, and holidays; receiving and dispatching incoming calls for police, fire, emergency medical and other emergency and non-emergency assistance; disseminating emergency and law enforcement information utilizing computer aided dispatch equipment. Must be able to operate a variety of communications and telecommunications equipment, including radio, telephone, and computer consoles, various recording devices, and able to speak with clear enunciation. Applicants for this position must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Process will include interviews, professional testing and an extensive background investigation. Previous experience as a dispatcher is desirable. A City of Liberty Application and a Supplemental Application must be received by 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009 in order to be considered.
