DUTY LOCATIONS: 2 vacancies Kansas City Metro Area, MO

U.S. Citizen; No previous Federal Experience or tenure required. Under Executive Order 11935, only United States citizens and nationals (resident of Amer ican Samoa and Swains Island) may compete. The Office of Chief Counsel, IRS is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team and gain valuable administrative experience in a legal environment. As a Secretary (OA), you provide assistance to the legal staffs of assigned functional areas. Your duties include receiving visitors and phone calls; receiving, opening, reviewing and distributing mail and faxes; preparing and assembling documents; establishing and maintaining files; scheduling and making travel and hotel arrangements; and composing and preparing correspondence.

WHAT TYPE OF APPOINTMENT IS THIS? This is a Fulltime Career / Career Conditional appointment.

This is a Bargaining Unit position.

This position does not require travel.
Moving expenses are not authorized.

This position requires mandatory reassignment to the Legal Assistant Series ;05-0986' after the secretary gains the specialized experience (knowledge of legal terminology and formats) needed for movement to the 05-0986 series.

Promotion Potential - GS-06 with further competition upon meeting time-in-grade requirements and demonstrating possession of the required competencies
