Resident Employment Specialist

The Housing Authority of Kansas City, Missouri is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Employment Specialist/Job Developer.
This position is responsible for assessing assigned public housing residentsý work readiness and skills, interests and abilities and assisting them by exploring employment, training and educational options available in the local community.

Responsibilities Essential Job Functions

Conduct assessments of all unemployed Resident Employment Program clients.
Assess strengths, conditions, needs, barriers that affect job and training readiness.
Develop employment, training, and educational career options for Resident Employment Program clients.
Link clients to training and employment through the Full Employment Council and local employers, training programs and educational institutions.
Place assigned clients in appropriate job, training and educational slots.
Facilitate a weekly job club for Resident Employment Program clients and low-income job seekers from the surrounding community.
Conduct post-placement follow-up to determine appropriate placement and need for remedial actions, including replacing the client in an alternative slot.
Maintain individual records, daily contact sheets, and provide a monthly report to the Resident Employment Program project coordinator.

Qualifications Qualification: Prefer a Bachelors degree in a Social Service related field. Previous experience in the employment field and working with low-income populations. EOE
