During the program, participants learn about blueprint reading, precision measurement and use of machine tools in Making It In KC’s 3,900 square foot facility. They also develop interpersonal skills in teamwork, communication and employment strategies. Upon completion, participants receive a 12-hour Manufacturing Technology Certificate from MCC, a 10-hour OSHA General Industry Outreach Card, Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification and priority consideration for a position with one of our employer partners (list available at makingit.mccbtc.com).
The next classes begin January 5, 2009 and will meet Monday through Thursday, 12:30-4:30 p.m., for 16 weeks at MCC-BT. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, legal residents or U.S. citizens and meet minimum qualifications determined by assessment, drug screen and criminal background check. Tuition and supplies are free.
